Brainerd High School graduate J.P. Platisha of the Tri-City Storm has been named USHL Offensive Player of the Week ending March 12.
Platisha posted five points in three games last week, scoring a hat trick and two game-winning goals. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound forward leads the Storm in goals scored, is first in the league in game-winning goals and is tied for sixth in the league in goals scored.
Platisha will play at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the CCHA next season.
Lyscio to speak to boosters club
Brainerd middle level activities director Todd Lyscio will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins noon Thursday at the Moose Lodge.
Floor hockey player Jacob Ray, the Warrior Athlete of the Week, will be honored.
The club will not meet March 24. Its next meeting after Thursday will be March 31.
Victory League meeting Friday
The Victory League will meet 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Falls Bar in Little Falls.

Holznagel in playoffs with UMD hockey
Former Brainerd standout Erin Holznagel is playing on the University of Minnesota-Duluth women's hockey team as it prepares to face St. Lawrence in an NCAA regional playoff game Friday, Mar. 18.
Holznagel has played in 28 games and tallied one assist this season for the No. 2 seeded Bulldogs, who are 26-5-2.
