Authorities continue to seek the public's help in the investigation of the death of a Ross Lake Township woman.
The body of Bonita Jean Thoms, 58, was found Feb. 26 at her residence on Cuyuna Trail in northeastern Crow Wing County.
Crow Wing County Sheriff Eric Klang said his office hasn't yet received any calls relating to Thoms' death.
The sheriff's department is asking for the public's help in determining the whereabouts of Thoms on the afternoon of Feb. 25. She was last seen 3:30 p.m. leaving her place of employment at the Aitkin Clinic. She was driving a red 1997 Buick LeSabre.
The sheriff's department also is asking for information about a dark-colored sedan that may have been in the area of Cuyuna Trail or Crow Wing County Road 36 on Feb. 25 during the afternoon or night.
"We're still waiting for the public to respond," Klang said. "We're continuing to work on it and we're going to follow up on any leads or information when we get them."
Thoms' death is being called suspicious by the sheriff's department and the Crow Wing County coroner's office hasn't made a ruling on the manner of her death, the sheriff's department reported.
Klang declined to say what information led investigators to label Thoms' death suspicious.
"Some of it's information that only us and someone else might have," he said.
Klang did say Thoms' death wasn't being investigated as a homicide.
"There's nothing blatantly obvious it would be anything other than a death investigation," Klang said. "It was an unattended death and we want to answer all the questions we have."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Investigative Division at (218) 829-4749.
