Tickets for the Mille Lacs Lake Lions Club's 23rd annual spring fashion show, "Up North," are on sale.
The show will be May 3 in the Pine Room at Gary's Sports Bar in Ironton. It will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour featuring raffle ticket sales and socializing. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the fashion show highlighting the latest spring and summer trends from Herberger's.
Tickets are $18 each and include lunch, fashion show and table favors. This is the single largest fund-raiser of the Mille Lacs Lake Lions, which donates non-traditional college scholarships to area students and supports a variety of other area charities.

Crosby aquatic program
offered to people with arthritis
CROSBY -- Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program sessions will run 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 30 to April 29, at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby.
Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
Any adult with any type of arthritis is invited to enroll. It is not necessary to know how to swim. People with severe joint problems or who have had joint surgery are asked to check with their doctors about the needs for precautions. The program will offer an opportunity for people with arthritis to meet others who have the same condition. The gentle movements can help relieve pain and stiffness.

State Farmers Union president
to lead district meeting in Little Falls
LITTLE FALLS -- Minnesota Farmers Union President Doug Peterson invites MFU members in central Minnesota to join him for a district meeting 9 to 11:30 a.m. March 24 at the Royal Cafe in Little Falls.
"We want to keep our members informed about our 2004 legislative work on issues including local control, CREP, dairy policy and life estates," said Peterson. "We want to help our members get firsthand information and knowledge about the legislative process by holding meetings in Little Falls and other locations around the state."
Peterson will be joined by MFU Field Services Director Ron Hauglie, who will outline membership services and programs. The Little Falls meeting is one of five scheduled for late March. Other meetings will be in Alexandria, Crookston, Marshall and Waseca.
