Supervisor Eddie Woitalla flipped the coin that decided the Platte Lake Township clerk race Thursday night.
"I called heads and I won," Robert Dambowy said this morning.
Dambowy and incumbent Mark Otremba each received 4 votes for the three-year term in Tuesday's township election and the coin flip was scheduled for Thursday.
"Everybody was very friendly," the new clerk said. "It's a small group of people, maybe a couple of hundred voters. Everybody knows everybody."

IDEAL -- Jerome Taylor, supervisor.
JENKINS -- Dennis Czeck, supervisor, and Patti Buellen, clerk.
LAKE EDWARD -- Ronald Metzen, supervisor, and Martha Look, clerk.
LITTLE PINE -- Mike Rourke, supervisor, and Audrey LeBlanc, clerk.
LONG LAKE -- David Johnson, supervisor, and Patsy Olson, clerk.
MAPLE GROVE -- JIm Anderson, supervisor, and Norene Warta, clerk.
MISSION -- Robert Young, supervisor, and Ellen Thatcher, clerk.
PERRY LAKE -- Charles Rono, supervisor, and Lois Laughton, clerk.
PLATTE LAKE -- Jerome Weiss, supervisor, and Robert Dambowy, clerk (decided by a coin flip).
RABBIT LAKE -- Calvin Tuper, supervisor, and Linda Danielson, clerk.
ROSS LAKE -- Larry Robberstad, supervisor, and Joyce Neumann, clerk.
ST. MATHIAS -- Clayton Eisel, supervisor, Mary Sather, clerk, and Joan Koering, treasurer.

Results had not yet been received today at the Crow Wing County Auditor's Office from the following townships: Bay Lake, Center, Crow Wing, Fairfield, Garrison, Irondale, Nokay Lake, Oak Lawn, Pelican and Roosevelt.
