Vi Gibbons

Vi Gibbons died on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. She was a longtime resident of St. Paul and Brainerd, Minn. She was born in Amery, Wis., on Jan. 18, 1917. Vi married Michael J. "Jack" Gibbons on Sept. 7, 1938. He preceded her in death.

Vi leaves behind two daughters, Mary Pat Gibbons Dobmeier, Brainerd, Kathleen (Jim) A. Gibbons Shepherd, SaddleBrooke, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Erin (Jim) Rian, Minneapolis, Mark Gibbons (Alden) Homlish, Denver; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Grace, Caden Jack, Keegan James and Beckett Gibbons. She also leaves behind a sister, Marie "Pat" Mortimer, St. Paul; and two brothers, Marlan (Audrey) Mork, Woodbury, Minn., and Lloyd Mork, Ferdinand, Idaho; along with many relatives and friends.

Vi was a longtime member of St. Columba parish in St. Paul and St. Andrew's parish in Brainerd.

Her happy, generous spirit touched many of us during her long life.

A Mass celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2007, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Seamus Walsh officiating.
