2 Aitkin County men charged in separate drug busts

AITKIN -- Two Aitkin County men have been charged in district court for separate controlled substance crimes.

The two men, a 38-year-old Palisade resident and a 50-year-old Tamarack resident, were charged in Aitkin County District Court Thursday for crimes relating to the production of methamphetamine, Aitkin County Sheriff Dennis Landborg reported Friday.

They were arrested Tuesday at a rural Palisade residence and at a rural Tamarack residence, after the Aitkin County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension executed search warrants at the two residences, said Landborg.

The 38-year-old man was charged with two counts of first-degree controlled substance crime. He was released from Aitkin County Jail after posting a $2,000 bail.

The 50-year-old man was charged on two separate complaints, one charging him with two counts of first-degree controlled substance crime and the other with two counts of first-degree controlled substance crime and a count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime. He is being held in the Aitkin County Jail on $25,000 bond or $5,000 bail.
