School results canvassed

The Brainerd School Board canvassed the election results Thursday from Tuesday's $59.9 million building bond referendum.
The referendum passed by 97 votes. The yes votes were 4,317, or 50.57 percent, and the no votes were 4,220, or 49.43 percent. A total of 8,537 people cast ballots, including 450 people who voted by absentee ballot. Four additional ballots were left blank.
On the building bond referendum, 35.7 percent of registered voters cast ballots. In the November school board election, 31 percent of registered voters turned out at the polls.
