Two racers were injured when their snowmobiles collided during the WSA HIllcross Series snowmobile racing event Sunday at Ski Gull.
The collision happened about 2:30 p.m. at the finish line of the Winter X final race. One racer, identified by other racers as AJ Ray of Osakis, was airlifted by North Air Care to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, the Pillager Fire Department reported.
"The only thing that he said was that his neck hurt. He was conscious," said Wally Scheer, co-owner of the WSA Hillcross Series.
The other racer, Jeremy Schimek of Mankato, said he broke his collarbone in the collision.
Pillager Fire Chief Randy Lee said another racer broke a leg during another race at the event.
