A defense which has now limited 13 foes to 50 or fewer points this season and the continual outcourt artistry of 6-4 center John Straka won a few more believers for a return to the State Class AA High School Basketball tournament, as Corky Johnson's Brainerd Warriors defeated Alexandria 59-48 last night.

Brainerd employment in February of this year was 564 higher than in February 1961. The increase was one of the largest ever recorded here in a single year.

There is every indication that with steel in demand for war construction work, logging is to return on a large scale to northern Minnesota. The call of "Timber" will again ring through the forests. The river runner, the logging camp, its flapjacks and lumberjacks are on their way back.

Elks are working to have their "eleventh hour toast" chimes fixed. Lately the clock balked and struck ten instead of eleven.
