Rep. Dale Walz, R-Brainerd, is supporting the Citizen's Personal Protection Act which reforms Minnesota's permitting system for carrying a concealed handgun. The bill was heard Thursday in a crime prevention committee.
This bill provides state uniformity and constitutional fairness in granting a 'shall issue' valid handgun carry permit. Current permit laws are interpreted differently which creates discord in cities and counties throughout the state.
