Pequot schools to start two hours late Wednesday
PEQUOT LAKES -- The Pequot Lakes School District will start school two hours late Wednesday to allow students in kindergarten through grade 12 and school staff to travel to the state girls' basketball tournament tonight at Concordia College in Moorhead to watch the Pequot Lakes girls' basketball team participate in the state tournament quarterfinals.
The game starts at 8 p.m. and will end around 10 p.m.
Because of the distance traveled and the number of students and school staff members attending, school for grades kindergarten through 12 will start at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Buses will also run two hours later than normal. The school day will end at the normal time Wednesday. Morning Kid Konnection for Wednesday is canceled.
If the Pequot Lakes girls' basketball team wins today, the school day would end early Friday when the team would play in Minneapolis.
