Firefighters save Brainerd home

The Brainerd Fire Department was called to a house fire at around 6 p.m. Friday at a home at 231 North First Ave. in Brainerd.
Firefighters were able to save the home but the family lost their dog due to smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Nisswa Fire Department was called in for mutual aid.
