Miss Sharon Koering, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Koering, Route 3 Brainerd, has been selected for membership in the United States All American Band, a band that will perform concerts in 10 European countries this summer.

40 years ago (1961)

Vince Kampmann and John Hall, both carding 384s, paced Brainerd's rifle team to a three-point victory over Deerwood No. 2 in a Paul Bunyan Rifle League encounter this week. Brainerd totaled 1902 to Deerwood's 1899.

60 years ago (1941)

Judy Duerr, Barbara Lee, Lorrane Englert, Lois Anderson, Lauretta Dickman, Betty Wels, Margaret Fox, Maxine Cass, Helen Schackel, Jackie Lee, Lois Gordon and Lorraine Humphrey attended the District Basketball Meet at Aitkin.

80 years ago (1921)

The Brainerd High School Basketball team won the game from Crosby-Ironton High School 25 to 19. After the game the local team was entertained by Prof. M.B. Scherich, principal of the high school.
