B.A.Y. Ministries fundraising dessert buffet

Brainerd Area Youth Ministries of Youth for Christ will have a fundraising dessert buffet from 7-8:30 p.m. March 29 at the Crossroads Cafe, 217 S. Seventh St., Brainerd. No admission fee. To RSVP, call 825-9149 or e-mail dale@bayministries.org.

UCC adult forum

"Another Look at Poverty" will be the topic at First Congregational United Church of Christ's adult forum after the 10 a.m. service Sunday. Joyce Libra, volunteer with the Interfaith Hospitality Network, will lead the discussion.

'Christ in the Passover' - A Jews for Jesus presentation

STAPLES - What do the Jewish Passover and Jesus' Last Supper have in common? Deb Dubin, speaking on behalf of Jews for Jesus, will answer that question in a presentation called "Christ in the Passover" at 7 p.m. Monday at Staples Assembly of God Church.

Using a visual display of traditional Passover accouterments, the "Christ in the Passover" presentation enhances the Christian's understanding and appreciation of the Jewish background of the Christian Communion. Ancient and modern Jewish customs are discussed and described with an emphasis on the aspect of redemption that Christ accomplished at Calvary.

Lenten services continue, AngelFood Ministries deadline Wednesday

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will have Lenten services each Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. This year's theme is "Jesus, Tree of Life." On Wednesday, the sermon is entitled "The Question that Never Dies." Traditional Lenten soup suppers will be served at 5 p.m. throughout Lent with offerings to benefit youth camp scholarships.

The deadline for ordering from AngelFood Ministries is Wednesday. Place your orders on or before the deadline. For additional information, contact First Lutheran Church, AngelFood host site, at 829-9552.

Concert planned at Malmo

There will be a concert at 7 p.m. March 19 at the Malmo Evangelical Free Church featuring the combined groups of Playin' Truth and Hawkinson and Friends.

Auditions planned for 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'

BAXTER - Auditions for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" are open to the public and will be 1 p.m. March 21-22 and 6 p.m. March 23 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Baxter. Those planning to audition should prepare 1-2 minutes of a song from any musical and can bring someone to accompany them on piano or bring a CD with the music. All vocal tracks must be removed from the CD.

Directed by Beth Selinger, show performance dates are June 10-13.

Lenten services at Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 South Sixth St., Brainerd, will continue the observance of Lent with a service at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The 2010 Lenten services are focusing on the topic of "Mission." Pastor David Holte will continue the series with the topic, "Mission to Serve the Community."

A soup supper will be served beginning at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

CROSSLAKE - Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church of Crosslake will have a ham dinner served from 6-7:30 p.m. March 19. Ladies and children eat free but there will be a $10 donation for all men. RSVP by calling Don Wurdeman at (218) 692-2623.

Quilt bingo and raffle

BUCKMAN - Quilt bingo and raffle sponsored by St. Michael's Christian Mothers/Women will be 1 p.m. March 21 at the Parish Center in Buckman. Winners choose their quilt. A quilt will be given for a door prize. Free lunch will be served.
