GRAND RAPIDS - Bryce Tesdahl recorded a triple double, scoring 22 points to go along with 12 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the top-seeded Crosby-Ironton Rangers past the No. 5 Deer River Warriors 67-36 in the Section 7-2A quarterfinals Saturday.

Derek Swanhorst added 13 points and 10 rebounds while Trevor Dickie scored 10 for the Rangers (27-1 overall), who will take on Esko in the section semifinals 6 p.m. Tuesday.

GRAND RAPIDS Behind Jesse Fisher's 31 points and nine rebounds and Tucker Sheley's 25 points and eight rebounds second-seeded Pequot Lakes throttled the No. 3 International Falls Broncos 95-59 in the Section 7-2A quarterfinals Saturday.

Brandon Hilts and Jon Parker each chipped in with 11 points while Nathan Greer dished out 11 assists for the Patriots, who improve to 25-2. PL will now take on Mesabi East (26-1 overall) in the section semifinals 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

MILACA - Pierz received 23 points and six rebounds from Dustin Monson as the Pioneers ran away from Foley in the second and beat the Falcons 70-60 in the Subsection 18, Section 6-2A semifinals at Milaca High School Saturday.

Bryan Virnig scored 17 points and hauled in eight rebounds for Pierz who improved to 24-4 overall and set a single-season school record for victories. The Pioneers now face the Braham Bombers for the subsection championship 8 p.m. Tuesday in Milaca.

PARK RAPIDS Josh Kern and Wayne Kopp each scored 17 points for Verndale as the No. 2 seeded Pirates beat No. 3 Menahga 73-61 in the East Subsection 6-1A quarterfinals Saturday.

Spencer Moyer added 15 points and 10 rebounds while Jon Price scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards. Shane Finck rounded out the scoring with 14 points for Verndale, who improves to 20-8 overall and will face Cass Lake-Bena 7 p.m. Tuesday in the section semifinals.

COLLEGEVILLE - Staples-Motley's Caleb Nurnberger scored 13 points and Jordan Riewer had 11 in a 58-51 loss to the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters in the Subsection 19, Section 6-2A semifinals at St. John's University's Sexton Arena Saturday.

Colton Thompson chipped in with 11 rebounds and six assists for the Cardinals, who finish the season with a 14-11 record.
