People Uniting for Peace will have a local activist panel at 3 p.m. March 22 in Room E313 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Crosslake Garden Club
The Crosslake Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Crosslake Community Center. Dr. David Neubauer of Health First, Inc., will speak on "Saving Your Body while Keeping a Garden Green," followed by a question-and-answer period.
The American Association of University Women will have a program March 19 at the Sawmill Inn. There will be a 10:30 a.m. presentation by Theresa Flink about diversity on the Central Lakes College campus followed by an 11:30 a.m. soup and sandwich lunch. Heartland Senior Federation will meet 10 a.m. Monday at the Brainerd Public Library.
Ray's Promenaders will hold their regular Friday night square dance in the Baxter Elementary School cafeteria with plus tips beginning at 7:30 p.m. followed by mainstream at 8 p.m. Phil Miller will be the caller. Jim and Charlene Amweg will host a finger food potluck.
Firearm safety training
Firearm safety training will start 6 p.m. March 23 at the Brainerd VFW Club. Students must be age 12 or close. Adults are welcome to take the class also. The classes that follow will be at 6:30 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the North Central Beekeepers Association will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Paul Bunyan Nature Learning Center. The featured speaker will be Marla Spivak from the Department of Entomology at the University of Minnesota.
Sons of Norway
The Sons of Norway will meet for cultural activities at 6 p.m. and a program at 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The cultural activities will be a sing-along with Norwegian and other Nordic songs. Cathie Mayr, owner of Nordic Living in Nisswa, will present the program, "Why do Scandinavians Act the Way They Do?"

Corned beef and cabbage feed
The Brainerd VFW will have its annual corned beef and cabbage feed beginning at noon Thursday.
Deerwood Civic and Commerce will sponsor its ninth annual gun show 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 19 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mach 20 at the Deerwood Auditorium. Gun dealers will be on hand to buy, sell or trade guns.
Admission is $2 a day. Children under 16 are admmitted free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. A concession stand will be available. Proceeds will go toward local community improvements.
Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club
The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday at Lord of Life Church in Baxter. The business meeting will be 6:45 p.m. followed by a video program. "Quilts of Gee's Bend" is about quilters in a remote community in Alabama. The morning meeting will be March 22 at the Presbyterian Church in Brainerd.
Annual memorial service set
The Brainerd Moose Lodge and Women of the Moose will hold their annual memorial service at 2 p.m. March 20 at the Moose Lodge in Brainerd for members who have passed away in the past 12 months.
