20 years ago (1982)

Brainerd's YMCA swimmers, led by Bill McCollough and Scott Guertin, finished fifth in a field of 17 teams in the State YMCA Swimming Tournament.

30 years ago (1972)

The Mary Tornstrom Memorial Scholarship Fund at Brainerd State Junior College reached the halfway point of its minimum goal last week. A total of $500 has been accumulated.

40 years ago (1962)

The decision by the Brainerd School Board to negotiate with the YMCA for use of the swimming pool for classes four hours each morning should be good news for parents of this school district.

60 years ago (1942)

Women of Brainerd and throughout Crow Wing County may soon be asked to register for jobs in the various war industries. It will merely be a means of checking on the women who might, in emergencies, be called upon for this type of war work.

80 years ago (1922)

Imgrund's Red Devil Service truck was refinished the Berry way with Berry Bros. Auto Enamel. Alderman-Mahgan Company.
