WASHINGTON (AP) -- More than 213,000 lighters are being recalled by the manufacturer. The lighters can leak butane when ignited, causing an excessive burst of flame.
Michael's Stores Inc. of Irving, Texas, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling the lighters after 14 reports of excessive flame, including three reports of consumers whose hands were burned as a result.
The recalled all-purpose lighters are refillable and contain butane. They are about nine inches long and have a white plastic base.
