Ed Menk, owner of the Watchmaker's Jewelry Store in Brainerd was recently elected president of the Minnesota Watchmaker's Association at the recent convention in the Twin Cities. He is married, the father of three children and has 11 years of experience in the business.

The drive to raise $500,000 in commitments of credit to save a building and remodeling program at St. Joseph's Hospital is assured of success, it was revealed today. The amount of money in hand right now stands at $427,185.

It's "On To Moorhead" for Crosby-Ironton's battling Rangers, who presented the school its 17th District cage championship Friday at Staples with a 69-51 whipping of a cold Brainerd Quint.

Twenty-two seniors have been selected by the faculty as honor graduates. Heading the list is Betty Christenson, who despite her extra-curricular activities, has maintained a high enough scholastic record to be named Valedictorian. Her average was 3.85.

J.H. Burton's fine residence property at Brainerd was totally destroyed by fire. The loss on the house and furniture was about $3,000. The house was insured for $900 and the furniture for $000.
