Brainerd schools will close two hours early today and all after-school and evening activities also are canceled. Fun and Friends and Senior Leaders programs also will be closed and parents are responsible for picking up their students at their school. KinderClub will be open but parents are encouraged to pick up students as early as possible.
District administrators will continue to monitor weather reports for Wednesday morning. They are advising that people get home and limit travel. School administrators, who consulted with the National Weather Service in Duluth, have been urged by the NWS to repeat that this is a serious late winter storm.

Pillager schools will close at 1 p.m. today and all after-school activities are canceled. Fun Stop and Daycare will be open the usual times. Kindergarten Round-up is rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 26.
Staples-Motley schools are closing at 1:15 p.m. today with no afternoon preschool.
The Lakes Area Team Challenge Biggest Loser weigh-in scheduled for today has been postponed. The event, sponsored by the United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties, will be 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Westgate Mall.
