STAPLES - A 36-year-old rural Staples man was arrested Wednesday for burglary, possession of stolen property and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, reported the Todd County Sheriff's Office.

Open Forum
On Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, I joined a very large crowd at Tornstrom Auditorium for the "Celebrating Dreams" concert. What a wonderful and inspiring event this was. It showcased very talented area musicians, ranging in age from 13 - 55 years, some of who were performing for the very first time. Many of them performed material they had composed and written themselves. The talent exhibited by all 13 of these performers was remarkable.

Send-off for New York-bound teams
Michael Hopps, a geography instructor at Central Lakes College, wished George Washington of the Raiders' basketball team good luck at a send-off Monday for the CLC men's and women's teams. Both squads left on chartered buses bound for New York, where they are each competing in eight-team National Junior College Athletic Association championship tournaments this week. The men are headed for Delhi. The women are en route to Utica.

Trio helps Staples-Motley advance
