Mora eliminates Pierz in 6AA

MORA -- The second-seeded Mora Mustangs defeated the seventh-seeded Pierz Pioneers 71-48 in the opening round of the District 18, Section 6AA boys' basketball tournament Thursday.

Adam Tschida scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Pioneers. Teammate Chris Zilka was also in double figures with 10 points as Pierz finished the season 4-19.

John Kaiser scored 35 points to lead Mora, which shot 51 percent from the field and didn't miss a free throw.
