AITKIN -- Leslie S. Cummings, 35, Aitkin, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 19, 1964, in Aitkin to William and Patricia (Mickley) Cummings. She grew up and attended schools in Aitkin. She graduated from Aitkin High School in 1982. She attended the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis campus where she played on the university women's golf team. After graduating in 1987, she worked at the Cuyuna Country Club in Deerwood and served as its teaching pro and manager for four years. She then worked at Whitefish Golf Club near Crosslake where she served as the club pro for three years. She then worked for 3M in Appleton, Wis., and later transferred to St. Paul. She worked for Dain-Rauscher Investments as an investment executive. Most recently, she worked as an investment executive for Investment Center of America in Aitkin. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin, and the Aitkin Lakes Rotary International Club.
Survivors include her parents, William "Bill" and Patricia "Pat" Cummings, Aitkin; two brothers, Kent Cummings and Scott Cummings, both of Aitkin; one sister, Laurie Tibbetts, Stacey; honorary grandparents, Red and Nicki Keenan, Aitkin; and special friend, Ken Oaks, Nisswa.
A sister, Lisa, died in 1997.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin, with Father Patrick J. Coyle and the Rev. Edward Foster officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Aitkin.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
