Allen 'Pooly Ball' Tyndall

STAPLES -- Allen "Pooly Ball" H. Tyndall, 92, Staples, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Staples Care Center.

He was born Dec. 28, 1909, in Staples and attended school there and worked at the Northern Pacific yards. He managed a pool hall before entering the Army in 1942. He was in the Army medical corps until he was discharged in 1945. He worked in Alaska until moving back to Staples to manage the American Legion Club. He purchased the Collison Shoe Shop until his retirement.

Survivors include a brother, David Tyndall, Shula Vista, Calif.

A brother, Byron Tyndall, and a sister, Miriam Sapp, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina.
