A winter storm warning remained in effect for Crow Wing, Aitkin and southern Cass County Saturday, with snow and blowing snow making travel a challenge overnight Friday and Saturday.
Snowfall was expected to diminish by Saturday afternoon with total storm snowfall accumulations of five to eight inches. But the National Weather Service reported strong winds and gusts up to 35 mph were expected to continue through Saturday night.
The second storm followed a snowstorm Thursday that dumped up to five inches across the lakes area.
Forecasts today called for winds to decrease from 20 to 30 mph to 10 to 15 mph. There's a chance of light snow tonight and Monday and warming weather into the coming week.
