PALISADE -- Kevin A. Kingsley, age 46, of Palisade, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, as the result of a car accident in Morrison Township of Aitkin County, Minn.
He was born Nov. 11, 1957, at Aitkin, Minn., the son of Alfred E. and Thelma M. (Landrus) Kingsley. He grew up in the Palisade area and attended the North Waukenabo School, the Palisade school and graduated from the Aitkin High School in 1976. He then attended the Brainerd Vo-Tech and studied to be an auto body technician. He then went to work for Century Welding in Minneapolis for a time. He then worked on the Oil Pipeline at Watford City, N.D. He returned to Palisade and worked a time as a skidder operator. He then worked as a manager for Star machine and Tool Company in McGregor for 10 years. He most recently worked for Cummings Oil Company driving bulk truck delivering heating fuel oil for the past seven years. He married Connie Lynn Rietveld on Oct. 1, 1983, at Remer, Minn. They have made their home in the Palisade area. He was a member of the Palisade Fire Dept. and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Connie of Palisade; three children, Kyle Kingsley, Leah Kingsley and Derek Kingsley, all at home in Palisade; parents Alfred and Thelma Kingsley of Palisade; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Susan and Jack Plattner of Gary, Minn., and Debbie and John Chute of Aitkin; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Russell and Carolyn Kingsley of Palisade; Rick Kingsley of Palisade; Lee and DeeAnn Kingsley of Burnsville, Minn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cornie and Nancy Rietveld of Deer River, Minn., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Westside Church in Aitkin with the Rev. Dallas Smith and the Rev. Barry Hite officiating. Burial will be in the Waukenabo Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Westside Church and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
