Family of Christ Lutheran School activities set
BAXTER -- The Family of Christ Lutheran School in Baxter is celebrating National Lutheran School Week this week.

Katy Hochmayr, the daughter of Mary and Terry McCollough of East Gull Lake and David Hockmayr of Lakeshore, graduated Cum Laude from St. Olaf College with a bachelor of music degree in instrumental music education. Hochmayr is now a teacher in the Kealakehe Schools in Kailau-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Looking ahead
Crow Wing County's tremendous population growth, with all of the pleasures and pitfalls that accompany it, is common fodder for news stories and editorials today, but the topic wasn't always on the front burner. Thirty years ago, many area residents would have laughed if someone would have predicted the traffic volumes, commercial development and housing boom that we see today.
