Nic Harrison of Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus was denied in his bid for the 135-pound championship following semifinal action in the Class 2A state tournament Friday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Second-ranked Tossaporn Suparat of North Branch nipped the third-ranked Harrison 6-5 in the semifinals. In the consolation semis he beat Quinton Thiele of Totino-Grace and wrestled for third place Saturday.
Charlie Wilczek of Little Falls won by default in the wrestlebacks before losing in the consolation semis and wrestled for fifth place Saturday.
Wilczek's teammate, Cody Bue, saw his season end with a 12-3 loss to Foley's Justin Bowland at 160.
