Raiders' return to nationals is derailed

MINNEAPOLIS - Illya Glover finished with 15 points before fouling out as the No. 7 Central Lakes Raiders were eliminated by the nation's No. 1 Minneapolis Mavericks 74-59 during the semifinals of the Region 13 tournament Friday.

The Raiders kept it close during the first 20 minutes as they entered the intermission down only eight before their shooting woes began. CLC went 10-of-36 (27.8 percent) during the second half.

The Raiders outrebounded the Mavericks 39-34, including 19-11 on the offensive glass, but were still outscored 11-10 in second-chance points. C.J. Peeters grabbed nine rebounds and Glover secured five.

Quentin Wilford finished with 13 points for the Raiders, but only had three assists to five turnovers.

The Minneapolis Mavericks were led by Kenny Olafeso's 21 points and 10 rebounds. Olafeso finished 8-11 from the field, including 2-3 from beyond the arc.

The Raiders finish the season 24-6.
