ST. CLOUD - Kyle Crocker scored his 1,000th point and led the Brainerd Warriors with 15 points in a 77-52 regular-season ending loss to St. Cloud Tech on Friday.
With the win the Tigers finished off a 26-0 regular season with the Central Lakes Conference title and the No. 3 ranking in Class 4A.
The Warriors finished the regular season with four losses but were able to celebrate when Crocker scored his 1,000th point on his first shot of the game.
"We were able to celebrate with him and we're proud of his achievement," said Brainerd coach Matt Urbanek.
As the Warriors head into the Section 8-4A tournament Thursday, Urbanek took away some good and bad things from Friday's game.
"Defensively we held our own against Tech and the shots that we had were just as good," Urbanek said. "The difference was in second-shot opportunities. They just killed us on the boards with second chances on every miss. It's hard to compete that way."
Aaron Pavek added 12 points for Brainerd while Nate Wolters was the high scorer for Tech with 24 points.
