MINNEAPOLIS - The Little Falls Flyers scored four first-period goals and went on to defeat the Blake School 5-0 in the consolation semifinals of the Class 1A boys' hockey tournament Thursday at Mariucci Arena.
Ben and Beau Hanowski led the Flyers as each scored and assisted on the other's first-period goals. Beau scored his second goal, assisted by Ben, at 1:37 of the third.
The Hanowskis each finished the game with three points.
Goalie Michael Sperl got the shutout for Little Falls, stopping all 17 shots he faced.
The other Flyer goals were by Andrew Lange and Zak Laird.
Little Falls outshot the Bears 40-17.
The Flyers will play Mankato West at 10 a.m. Saturday for the consolation championship.
