Two Brainerd school district committees met Monday night and recommended redrawing the Warriors' Indian logo. The Warrior nickname would remain, but they urged a study of a Warrior depicted as proud, determined and honorable.

Strikers still man the picket line at Larco. Union and management still meet across the bargaining table. But management seems to have the upper hand. Replacements have been hired, company contracts are being met and work is proceeding.

The Aitkin Gobblers ousted the Brainerd Warriors 57-51, and Little Falls nipped the C-I Rangers 54-53 to set the finals for District 24 basketball action in St. Cloud. Fans wonder why the final shouldn't move to Brainerd because of ice covered roads.
60 years ago (1950)
A 34-year-old Brainerd man and father of seven children confessed to Brainerd police that he had burglarized the Arrow Tavern the previous night. After second thoughts he returned later to throw the money through the door, but was captured by police.
80 years ago (1930)
A fair crowd at the Crosby-Ironton gym saw Brainerd High School defeat Pequot last night 39-12 and take its first step toward possible district honors. Guin was the high point man with six baskets and two free throws.
100 years ago (1910)
Brainerd is to have another hotel. Plans are for a new brick building to be erected at the corner of Sixth and Laurel Streets, with room for stores fronting on both streets. It will be a 100-room, medium priced hotel, with rooms at $1 per day and upwards.
