The elections of officials closest to the people - the township elections - are coming Tuesday.
Not all of the townships in Crow Wing County will have an election Tuesday, as some townships host their elections in November during the general election.
The Crow Wing County townships with contested races include Bay Lake, Oak Lawn, Roosevelt. In Bay Lake Township, running for town clerk are Carol Pundt, who is the deputy clerk, and RaeJean Anderson.
In Oak Lawn Township, supervisor candidates running for the one-year term are incumbent Joan Olsen and challenger Dan Peters; supervisor candidates running for the three-year term are Eric VanDrew and Al Mellgren; running for town clerk are incumbent Judy Zelinske and Judy Zettervall, former deputy clerk.
In Roosevelt Township, running for the supervisor seat are Doug Gearhart and Marcia Kohl. Kohl was appointed to the seat when Eric Thielbar resigned in December. Running for town clerk are incumbent Virginia Hill and challenger Janice Olson.
The polling hours and town hall locations for all township elections are:
Bay Lake, 2-8 p.m., 13861 County Road 10, 1.5 miles north on Highway 18.
Center, noon-8 p.m., 24491 County Road 19, County State Aid Highway 3 to 19.
Crow Wing, 2-8 p.m., 6930 Cuyuna Ave., Barrows, take northern service drive off Business Highway 371.
Daggett Brook, 3-8 p.m., 13017 30th St., 11 miles south of Brainerd on Highway 25.
Fairfield, 5-8 p.m., 35430 State Highway 6, 13 miles north of Crosby.
Fort Ripley, 3-8 p.m., 5190 Legend Lane, corner of Sunset Trail and Legend Lane.
Garrison, noon-8 p.m., 10701 Bollenbacher Road, County Road 10 off Highway 18 to Emstad Road to Bollenbacher Road.
Ideal, 5-8 p.m., 35458 Butternut Point Road, attached to fire station, just north of Ideal Corners.
Maple Grove, 4-8 p.m., 10013 County Road 108, off Highway 18 to CSAH 8.
Oak Lawn, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Town Hall, 12404 State Highway 18, just east of Brainerd.
Rabbit Lake, 5-8 p.m., 24958 Town Hall Road, off State Highway 210 East.
Roosevelt, 3-8 p.m., 22613 County Road 2, 2.5 miles west of Pine Center.
