Harrison remains in the hunt

ST. PAUL - Nic Harrison is making up for last year's disappointment at state as he advanced to the Class 2A semifinals with a win Thursday.

The Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus senior earned a 6-2 decision over sixth-ranked Sam Fischenich to advance in the championship bracket.

Highlight: Harrison moves to semis

Next: Individual semifinals and consolation quarterfinals 6 p.m.; consolation semifinals 8:30 p.m.

Harrison, Class 2A's third-ranked 135 pounder, will face Tossaporn Supart of North Branch Friday. Supart is ranked second and owns a 36-3 record. Harrison improved to 35-1.

Little Falls Cody Bue lost his quest for a state title as did teammate Charlie Wilczek.

Bue, Class 2A's top-ranked 160-pounder, lost a 9-2 decision over Jordan Campa of St. Michael-Albertville. Bue rebounded with a win in wrestlebacks.

Wilczek fell to South St. Paul's Joey Munos, but won his wrestleback mach.
