Kavanaugh's Resort defeated Unity Bank 70-55 for the championship in the YMCA men's basketball league Wednesday.

Kavanaugh's led 39-32 at the half. Kavanaugh's was led by Joe Kavanaugh and Aaron Otteson with 17 points each, Joe Stoll chipped in with 15 and Eric Nelson scored 12.

Unity Bank was led by Tim Miller's 17 points. Jack Wawro and Greg Snow each scored 10.

Others playing for Kavanaugh's were Mark Gerber, AJ Johnson and Ben Stoll.

Gervenak to play football

at Wisconsin-Stout

Brainerd Warriors wide receiver Mike Gervenak will play for the University of Wisconsin-Stout next fall.

In two varsity seasons for the Warriors, Gervenak had 50 catches for 752 yards and seven touchdowns.
