LONDON (AP) -- A fishing trawler sank in high seas off Britain's Western Isles, leaving six sailors missing Tuesday and feared drowned in the icy waters.
Rescuers pulled one man alive from the sea around midday Tuesday after he had spent 12 hours in the freezing water. Overnight, nine other crew members of the German-registered vessel, the Hansa, were airlifted to safety after a distress signal was detected late Monday, Coastguard officials said.
