PEQUOT LAKES -- Gerald Kelm, 66, Pequot Lakes, formerly of Brainerd, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Country Care Homes in Pequot Lakes.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in St. Paul to David C. and Frances (Graf) Kelm. He worked as a commercial truck driver. He retired from Van Bus and was a retired Teamsters steward. He was a member of Local 120.
Survivors include eight sons, Gerald F. Kelm, Chris Kelm, Bill Kelm, Gy Kelm, Tim Kelm and Mark Kelm, all of Brainerd, John Kelm, Vancouver, Wash., and Pat Kelm, Mt. Angel, Ore.; three daughters, Michele Stepanik and Vonnie Cowell, both of Brainerd, and Carolyn Kelm, Chisholm; 30 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Frances Nieman, St. Paul; four brothers, Dave Kelm, Cottage Grove, Jim Nieman, Montana, Jeff Nieman and Dennis Nieman, both of Minnesota; two sisters, Suzette DeNio, New Hope, and Suzanne Beck, Minnesota; and a special friend, Iris Gadacz, Foley.
His father; stepfather, Bud Nieman; and a grandson died earlier.
Services will be noon Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Long Lake Township.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
