Dear Heloise: In response to the letter on the childproof lids: I save regular lids from vitamin bottles and such, and when I finally get a childproof lid off, I throw it away and use a regular lid.
It is surprising how these lids will fit other bottles, and they are much easier to get off. -- A Fort Wayne (Ind.) Reader
Dear Heloise: To prolong the life of your blow dryer, keep the lint cleaned out of the air-intake screen. With the dryer unplugged, take a damp cotton-tipped swab and wipe it across the screen -- the lint sticks and comes right out. -- Annette Howlett, Glendale, Ky.
UP-TO-DATE ADDRESS BOOK
Dear Heloise: I keep my address book up to date by penciling in the date when I placed the address into my book.
In that way, with the mobility of my friends, I know if this is a current or out-of-date address. -- Barbara DeMinico, Oak Park, Calif.
