Helmar 'Mick' Jones

PINE RIVER -- Helmar "Mick" Jones, 95, Pine River, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1905, in Pine River. He married Clara Gravdahl on April 25, 1926. They lived in the Pine River area most of their lives. He was employed as a plant manager by Durkee Manufacturing Co. for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pine River, Sons of Norway Sagatun Lodge 18 and the American Legion.

Survivors include one son, Helmar "Bud" Jones, Champlin; one daughter, Karen Mason, Pine River; special nephew, Gerald Gravdahl, Brooklyn Park; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

His wife and one brother, Harold Jones, died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Pine River, with Pastor John Twiton officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Northland Funeral Home, Pine River, and for one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
