Todd County sheriff
SCAM - The Todd County sheriff's office warned residents, especially the elderly, to be cautious of door-to-door salespeople trying to intimidate people into buying their products.
Recently, two salespeople attempted to sell a product to a rural Long Prairie elderly couple and wouldn't take no for an answer. The salespeople stayed at the residence for more than three hours and were reportedly rude and intimidating when the couple did not buy anything.
Residents are urged to call 911 if they feel uncomfortable in such a situation and a salesperson won't take no for an answer or is hesitant to leave the residence. The sheriff's office also advised residents to confirm a salesperson's credentials and product before giving them money.
