Libby leads through service quietly making sure our ensembles are exceptional by always being prepared and ensuring everyone she works with is prepared as well. I am extremely pleased with Libby as a musician and a person.

How do you learn from others older than you? I try to learn from Mr. Stubbs and take what he says and how he does it to make myself a better singer. I also do it at choir festivals where there are older singers. I watch and learn from them.

Why is it important to you that everyone is prepared? It's important to get the tasks done for upcoming concerts and making sure everyone knows the words so we can be the best we can be.

How does singing make you feel? I'm very happy when I sing and when I play the viola in Chamber Orchestra. When I'm singing I try to imagine a picture that goes with the words or I think of background music in movies. Music is so important and I want to be a part of the song I'm singing or playing. You kind of become a character in the music.

Artist most admired: Brainerd High School sophomore Rebecca Yeh.

Most memorable fine arts achievement: Singing in Carnegie Hall last year.

Ever audition for American Idol: No. I don't think I'm that good. I love choral songs, so I wouldn't be a good musician.

Movie you've seen more than 10 times: Pirates of the Caribbean and the Harry Potter movies.

Favorite TV program: NCIS.

Something that makes you cry: A really good movie.

Last book you read: The Trespassers.

First singer you idolized: Mr. (Michael) Smith, (the former BHS choir director). I had him in fifth-grade honors choir and I thought 'This is what I want to be (a member of A Cappella Choir)'.

Song you like to sing: Hymns.

Favorite band: Switchfoot.

Favorite song: Cloudburst by Eric Whitacre.

Parents: Donna and Max Chastain of Nisswa.
