Mildred T. Sargent, 83, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Mildred was born on July 19, 1924, to Bert and Hazel (Juline) Peterson in Brainerd. She attended country school for eight years and then Washington High School in Brainerd until graduating in 1942. She worked for the Department of Agriculture under the Agriculture Conservation Program for 18 years in Brainerd.
Mildred married Roy Sargent on Oct. 5, 1946. They purchased a farm in Daggett Brook Township where they lived for 60 years. They attended the South Long Lake Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and was active in the Women's Association. Mildred enjoyed reading, knitting and flower gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Roy, Brainerd; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Lester Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Brainerd Area Habitat for Humanity or Gideon's International.
Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the South Long Lake Presbyterian Church, south of Brainerd, with Pastor Bob Kemper officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Long Lake Township. Friends may call on Friday one hour prior to the time of the service at the church.
