ST. PAUL (AP) -- Chris Stanley knocked down a 12-foot jumper from the right wing with time running out to give Minnesota-Duluth a 59-57 win over Southwest State in the NSIC Conference Championship.
Southwest State's Jacob Fahl put up a last-second shot on the next possession that would have tied the game and forced an overtime. But the shot rimmed out to give the Bulldogs their first trip to the NCAA Division II tournament since 1997.
Jason Schneeweis led Minnesota-Duluth (19-10) with 18 points and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
Fahl finished with 21 points for Southwest State (21-8).
