ELMDALE -- Rita Wensmann, 69, Elmdale, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 21, 1932, in New Munich, to Aloys and Emma (Ertl) Zierden. She married Donald Wensmann on Sept. 8, 1953. They farmed in Elmdale Township all their lives. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, Rosary Society, Little Falls Auxiliary, St. Edward's Choir and Mission Group.
Survivors include her husband; eight sons, Kenneth, Jim, Greg, and Brian Wensmann, all of Bowlus, Wayne Wensmann, Becker, Marvin Wensmann, Ramsey, Joel Wensmann, Sartell, Scott Wensmann, Holdingford; seven daughters, Doris Landowski, Burtrum, Diane Roske, Swanville, Cynthia Yandell, Rice, Brenda Yorek, Little Falls, Sandra Herdering, Freeport, Wanda Rathbun, St. Cloud, Jessica Rieder, Foley; 47 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Zierden, Avon, LeRoy Zierden, Cushing, Ervin Zierden, St. Cloud; and two sisters, Ethel Nierenhausen, Waite Park, and Mildred Wensmann, Melrose.
Two sons, Mark Wensmann, and an infant son, Joseph Wensmann, her parents, a brother, Lorenz Zierden, three grandsons and a great-grandson, died earlier.
Services were today at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale with Father Greg Mastey officiating. Burial was in St. Edward's Parish Cemetery in Elmdale.
Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home, West Chapel, in Little Falls.
