Retired fireman, spouses and widows will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Chaparral for breakfast.

"Going to the Chapel"

The Brainerd Christian Women's Club will sponsor a lunch and program called "Going to the Chapel" from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Waterfall Inn. Cost: $6.50 each inclusive. There will be a bridal fashion show called "Wedding March," "Bells are Ringing" by Glen Thesing, Brainerd, and "Bouquets of Wisdom" by Huldy Sannes, Frazee. Square dance

The Heartland Squares will dance from 8-10:30 p.m. Friday at Pequot Lakes Senior Center. Caller: Roger Leuth.

Senior dance

There will be a senior dance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brainerd Legion. Music by Lyle Cline.

NMWG meeting

The meeting will be 7 p.m. March 14 at Duffney's Custom Cabinets and Millwork, 15150 Hwy. 18 SE, Deerwood. There will be a tour of the new shop and a demonstration of making plaques. For more information, call Elaine Sauer at 829-7292.

Brainerd Area Shriners

Brainerd Area Shriners will meet at noon Monday for soup and sandwiches in the Shrine room. Board meeting is at 10 a.m.

Chapter C.J. of P.E.O.

Chapter C.J. of P.E.O. will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Cecil McCollough. Installation of officers.

Chapter DV, P.E.O.

Chapter DV, P.E.O. will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Dianne Wermager with Susan Kuhn assisting. Program: Katherine Herold.

Brainerd Bird Club

The Brainerd Bird Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd Public Library. Warren Nelson will present his bird identification series. Kim Risen is in charge of the program.

Potlatch Retirees

Potlatch Retirees will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Brainerd Public Library for potluck and games.

Degree of Honor

Members will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the VFW Hall. Hostess: Blanche Kethcum.

Cronquist Reunion

Plans are being made for a Cronquist reunion on July 22, 2000, at Dave and Bev (Cronquist) Schubert's. There will be a planning meeting at 7 p.m. Friday at Gary and Kathy Hebler's.

Legion and Auxiliary dinner

The American Legion and Auxiliary will have their dinner meeting. Auxiliary Executive committee will meet at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and Post and Unit meetings to follow.

Gun Safety Training

Gun Safety Training, sponsored by Pine Center Sportsmen's Club, will meet from 7-9 p.m. each evening at Roosevelt Town Hall. Class dates for gun safety training are March 13, 15, 17, 20, 22 and 24. Saturday field training date to be set later. You must be at least 12 years old by the time class starts. For more information, call 764-2668 or 764-2665.

Museum closed

The Crow Wing County Historical Society will be closed March 11. They will be at the Heritage Festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Brainerd High School.

New exhibit

"Cookin' Up Some History" is the new exhibit on display at the Crow Wing County Historical Society. It is an exhibit of yesteryear's kitchen appliances and utensils. Monday-Friday 1-5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $3 adults, children free.

First Aid

St. Joseph's Medical Center is sponsoring a first aid class from 6-10 p.m. Thursday. The course is certified by the American Safety and Health Institute and participants receive a completion card. Fee: $30. Preregistration is required. Call the Educational Resources Department at St. Joseph's Medical Center at 828-7488.

"Coping with Grief"

Coping with Grief is a series of eight sessions being conducted at Pine River Family Clinic. Sessions are from 1-3 p.m. every other Monday, beginning at March 13. Florence Rebekah Lodge No. 111

Brainerd Auxiliary to the Shrine

The Brainerd Auxiliary to the Shrine Hospital for Children will meet at noon Monday at the Masonic Hall. Hostesses will be Faye Brown, Dorothy Lyons, Gen Strobel, Olga Olson and Dorothy Carlson.

Crow Wing County Fair

The Crow Wing County Fair dates for this year are Aug. 8-13.

Brainerd Friends of the Library

The Brainerd Friends of the Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Brainerd Public Library meeting room.

We are currently accepting donations for the upcoming Spring Book Sale on March 24-25. Books may be dropped off at the library during regular business hours. For more information, call the library at 829-5574.

Brainerd Garden Club

The Brainerd Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at the Brainerd Public Library. The University of Minnesota Extension Office will present a program on "What's Available at Our Local Extension Office." The Board will meet a half hour before the meeting.
