Two injured in Little Falls stabbing incident

Posted: Wednesday, March 03, 2010

A verbal confrontation between two friends Monday afternoon in Little Falls escalated into a physical fight with both men suffering stab wounds, the Little Falls Police Department reported Tuesday.

About 3:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Eighth Street Southeast. When officers arrived they found two men, ages 29 and 24, with knife injuries.

Both men were treated at St. Gabriel's Hospital for non life-threatening injuries, Police Chief Mike Pender said. The 29-year-old man is being held for possible assault charges.

Pender said investigators still aren't sure how the fight was started. He said the argument escalated, the 29-year-old man pulled out a knife and both men ended up getting cut.

Because the incident is under investigation, Pender said he wouldn't release the names of the two men.

Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf said criminal charges could be filed as early as Wednesday.
