Benefit dinner

There will be a benefit for Vicki Stange on Saturday. Stange lost her trailer home and most of her belongings to a fire. A week later, she had back surgery and has been without an income. There will be a spaghetti dinner and bake sale from 4:30-8 p.m., with an auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. and a dance at 9 p.m., at the American Legion in Brainerd. Cost: $4, adults; $2.50, children 4-12; free for children under 3. Tickets are available at the Legion Club or call 829-9709 or 828-8339. Limited matching funds by A.A.L. Branch 239.

Lucy Pickar benefit

There will be a benefit for Lucy Pickar, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer, from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Fort Ripley Community Hall. Food and refreshments will be served.

Duplicate bridge

Duplicate bride is played at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Lakes Area Senior Activity Center. North-South: Betty Swart and Clif Johnson, 72; and Mark Anderson and Clayton Haglin, 67. East-West: Sandy Chase and Gordon Becker, 77; and Marion Benest and Chris Leininger, 64.
