CEDAR LAKE -- Ethel E. Peterson, 88, Cedar Lake near Upsala, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.
She was born Sept. 20, 1911, in Swanville Township of Morrison County to Alfred J. and Sophia "Tillie" (Lekberg) Anderson. She grew up in Swanville Township and attended District 126 country school. Upon completing her schooling, she helped on her parents' farm. She moved to Seattle and worked at Boeing Aircraft Manufacturing Co. for one year during World War II. She returned to the family farm. She later moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Rosenblatt Coat Manufacturing Co. for several years. She married Evar O. Peterson on Nov. 25, 1955, in Minneapolis. They moved to the Burtrum area and resided at Cedar Lake Resort, which Ethel helped operate with her sister, Emie. She helped her husband operate a trucking company until retiring. She was a member of Community Covenant Church, Upsala.
Survivors include her husband and two sisters, Emie and Elvie Hippie, both of Cedar Lake.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Community Covenant Church in Upsala with the Rev. Craig Johnson officiating. Burial will be in East Swanville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. until services Saturday at the church.
