DULUTH -- With a 70-32 thrashing of the Two Harbors Agates Tuesday, the Pequot Lakes Patriots girls' basketball team is back in the Section 7, Class 2A playoffs.
Pequot's Flecia Foster led Pequot with 19 points, Teresa Parker scored 16 points and Chelsa Schwegel and Kristen Willer each had eight. Starting point guard Jackie Doty added six points.
"We played well," said Pequot coach Bob Nelson. "We played good defense. I think the girls played one of their better games of the year. I was pleasantly surprised with how we came out."
The Patriots bench also came through scoring 13 points for the 27-1 Patriots, who face International Falls in the final at the University of Minnesota-Duluth 7:30 p.m. Friday.
"We got just about everyone in the game," Nelson said. "Jackie Doty scored six points and she normally doesn't really score that much. It was good to see her score."
