J.P. Platisha, the leading scorer in Brainerd Warrior boys' hockey history, has made a verbal commitment to attend the Division I University of Nebraska-Omaha of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
This season, the 5-foot-11, 182-pound Platisha played in 49 regular-season games for the Tri City Storm of the United States Hockey League. He had 20 goals and 36 total points, second on the team, including six power-play goals.
His previous two seasons in the USHL included stops at Topeka, Des Moines and Green Bay. Including this season, Platisha has played in 170 USHL games, scoring 43 goals and 90 total points.
Platisha had 88 goals and 174 total points in his Brainerd career. His 58-point season in 2000-01 is the second-highest in program history.
